In his Welcome Address to community leaders, government officials, distinguished guests and special invitees at the hosting of the monthly general meeting of Aseyori ACDC held at Pathsmet Hall, Ilupeju/Borehole CDA, on Thursday 10th March 2022, Oyedeko went down memory lane by recalling the date of registering the CDA on July 15th 2004 to the date the CDA last hosted ACDC meeting on 9th May, 2018.

Otunba Oyedeko admitted that the kind of unity that pervades his CDA has been responsible for the peace and harmony that reigns in Ilupeju/Borehole Community.

Chairman Oyedeko quickly seized the opportunity to extol the memory of six past Chairmen of the CDA, four of whom are now late, in the persons of Pa N.A.Lawal, Messrs Bolanle Awosika, S.O.Odefenwa and N.A.Dada.

Otunba Oyedeko also recognized the contributions of Alhaji Tiamiyu Lawal as well as the incumbent, Otunba Bolaji Oyedeko.

He told the gathering that his administration operates an open-door system whereby meetings are held monthly every third Saturday of each month on rotational basis in member’s houses where issues of common interest challenging residents are discussed.

On the achievements of his six-year administration, Otunba Oyedeko hinged on the fact that the peace and harmony that pervaded the community accounted for the relative progress enjoyed in the community which was as a result of unity among residents of Ilupeju/Borehole CDA.

Otunba Oyedeko commended the cooperation his administration enjoyed and experienced among the landlords in his CDA.

He recalled that among the breakthrough and outstanding  achievements recorded by his administration, apart from regular grading of interconnectivity roads within the community are, as put in his own words “A good example is the Borehole Junction that used to be waterlogged, thereby damaging the vehicles of residents and visitors to the community”.

“The Borehole Junction is now smooth and passable even during the rainy seasons”, adding with an air of satisfaction that “our roads have become the sure alternative to road users especially whenever Ilogbo road becomes impassable.

Otunba Oyedeko also mentioned that his CDA changed all wooden electric poles to concrete. This, he said, would in addition to Street Lights be completed before the present administration leave office.

The chairman also announced that his CDA took active participation in the construction of the Etere Aromokola Primary Health Center from the foundation stages right through to completion.

He also recounted the wisdom his CDA  put in place by quickly constructing  a mini roundabout at Borehole Junction to ward off the menace of landgrabbers who were almost selling off the place, thereby blocking easy and smooth pedestrian and vehicular passage in that axis.

The Chairman mentioned the importance of People’s Welfare and how his CDA has always put it in the front burner by leading via examples, e.g. distribution of palliatives during covid-19 pandemic.

He was full of thanks to God for the relative security enjoyed by his CDA even during the one million boys march at the outbreak of covid-19.

“However successful a community can be, it cannot be without challenges” says Otunba Oyedeko while listing the challenges of his CDA as follows: Lack of government primary school in the community, Overstretching of the 500kva transformer bought in 2014 as a result of population explosion in the community, Lack of functional market in the community and the almost permanent damage on the Oju Ore/Ilogbo road coupled with the indiscriminate parking of heavy duty trucks overnight on the Federated Steel Mills axis of that road, thereby constituting a menace to motorists including those coming to Ilupeju/Borehole Community.

Rounding off, Otunba Oyedeko took the opportunity to express gratitude to all members of Ilupeju/Borehole Community, particularly the families of Pastor Mrs Bolaji Kareem of Salem Group of Schools, Pastor & Mrs Adetuberu of Our God Reigns Crystal Schools, Pastor & Pastor Mrs Sodipo of Suz Liz Schools, Dr Amusan of Sure Mercy Hospital, Mr Kehinde Ishola, Architect & Mrs K.K. Oyegbile, Late Elder I.O.Popoola of Pathsmet Events Hall, Late Mrs S.O. Buraimoh (Mama NEPA Rentals), Mr Taiwo of 982 Exclusive Bar & Lounge, Mr Ogunniyi aka Manager.

Others are Otunba & Chief Mrs Johnson (TOKIS), Alhaji Gbadamosi, Winners’ Chapel Fellowship Center, Awosika Street, and entire ExCo of the CDA.

Chairman Oyedeko also paid glowing tributes to all departed souls in the Community especially Mrs S.O.Buraimoh aka Mama NEPA, ASP Olusegun Mustapha, Elder Isaac Olufemi Popoola, Pa Isaac Egbeola Adesina and Mrs Oyenike Oyedeko, wife of incumbent chairman Otunba Bolaji Oyedeko.
