Oko Baale CDA Chairman, Alhaji Ishola Fakile showcases achievements of his CDA
The chairman of Oko Baale CDA, Ota, Alhaji Aare Ishola Fakile on Thursday 8th September, 2022 announced to his guests that his CDA has gotten a Community Town Hall which had so far cost his CDA the sum of One Million Naira to put up.
Thanking his CDA members for their support, and the Onijigbo of Ijigbo land, Baale Kamilu Akingbade for donating the parcel of land, Aare Fakile disclosed that the project still requires about N3million to be completed.
Alhaji Fakile made these disclosures when he was delivering a Welcome Address to the chairman and Executive Members of Aseyori ACDC, chairmen of CDAs, government officials and other guests at the hosting of Aseyori ACDC monthly General meeting held at Oko Baale Town Hall, still under construction. He seized the opportunity to call on government to assist in completing the construction of theTown Hall.
Aare Fakile also announced that his CDA has built a Security Post to improve security in the Community and this has cost them about N500,000, yet, work is still in progress. He added that his CDA security men are taken from government approved SO SAFE CORPS, pointing out that every support is given to Onipaanu Police Division and Area Command , Sango, imploring the police to include Oko Baale in their patrol rounds.
Another area of development according to Aare Fakile is the regular grading of Oko Baale majorroads, filling of street potholes and carrying out needed rehabilitations. He stated that more than N200;000 is spent annually on grading of roads.
Alhaji Fakile went on to appreciate his CDA members in Fakile Street, Ajumoni Street, Able God Close and Unity Road for their selfless effort in preventing erosion in their axis, recalling that they came together to construct three culverts that cost about N1.2million, they got some support from the Community. However, Alhaji Fakile reiterated that his CDA is looking up for support from both the Local and State governments for construction of gutters and grading of their main roads.
The Oko Baale chair thanked the State government for giving the area a Polling Booth which would ease voting in the coming general elections. He also mentioned that the State Hospital Covid-19 crew responded to the invitation of his CDA with visits, which other neighboring CDAs also benefitted from, adding that his CDA reciprocate such visits with hospitality to the Covid-19 personnel.
Alhaji Fakile noted that electricity in the CDA had enjoyed a boost with repairs to damaged poles, cables, street lights and transformers. However, the CDA chairman reiterated his call on government to look into the rehabilitation of their roads, provision of health facilities and assisting of Oko Baale Youths in every way possible to reduce the incidences of crime, especially burglary.
Earlier in the Welcome Address, Alhaji Fakile had used the opportunity to appreciate past chairmen of his CDA, Asiwaju Ibrahim Adio and Mr Olawale Ajayi as well as residents of the CDA for always responding to calls for Community Development.
He disclosed that Oko Baale CDA hosted ACDC general meeting last on October 10th, 2019 adding that the CDA was registered in 2008.
Four people were honored with Awards at the ceremony. They are Late Mr Emmanuel Nwodo, Mr Olawale Ajayi, Alhaji Aare Moruf Ishola Fakile and Asiwaju Adio Ibrahim Babatunde.
