As Ota GRA CDA hosts Ajumoni Ota ACDC, Prince Ogundipe thanks Ogun Deputy Governor for sterling contributions to Community Development
“With the assistance of the Deputy Governor, Her Excellency, Engr Noimot Salako Oyedele, about 500 meters of open drain was constructed in 2 out of 4 zones of our Community. This has assisted these 2 zones to control flood in those areas”
These were the words of the chairman of Ota GRA CDA, Prince DL Ogundipe as he welcomed dignitaries that graced the meeting of Ajumoni Ota ACDC hosted by Ota GRA CDA today, 13th April, 2022 at Ota Recreation Club, GRA, Ota.
Prince Ogundipe however, like Oliver Twist, asking for more, pleaded that “the deputy governor will extend this good gesture to the remaining 2 zones that are still experiencing heavy flooding during rainy seasons”
Prince Ogundipe opened his Welcome Address by going down memory lane when he recalled that the meeting was the second in a space of 6 years, having held the first one on June 14th 2017 when Ota GRA CDA included the newly carved out GRA Extension.
Other achievements of his Community listed in the address are:
(a) Creation of GRA extension and successful sharing of Asset and Liabilities
(b) Erection of Street Lights on almost every Street in the CDA.
(c) Distribution of palliatives to the poor and less privileged during covid-19 lockdown
(d) Regular grading of Roads in the Community
On Security, the GRA CDA disclosed that his CDA did not only employ So-Safe Security Corps, but also provided accommodation for their Zonal Office.
This, according to him, has greatly boosted security in the CDA, especially as members of the CDA are being encouraged to procure security dogs to bolster security in the CDA.
However, on challenges being faced by his CDA, Prince Ogundipe specifically recalled the protracted court case his Community is having with Lloyds Industries which has been dragging for some years running now.
Ogundipe told his audience that the bone of the litigation was borne out of the industrial gases accompanied by heavy noise and earthshaking vibrations that emanate from the Industry reverberating into the GRA.
Prince Ogundipe also seized the opportunity of the address to present 2 major projects envisaged by the CDA – Construction of Open Drains at Zones B and D as well as the tarring of Roads in the CDA.
Earlier in his speech, chairman Ogundipe expressed satisfaction with the caliber of people whom God has blessed his Community with.
Apart from the deputy governor of the State, Engr Noimot Salako Oyede, Ogundipe also mentioned Chief Jide Ojuko, former Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs in the State.
Others, Ogundipe mentioned are Surveyor Dr Segun Osifeso, Aare Atunluse of Awori Kingdom, Rt Rev’d Dr Akin Atere, the Bishop, Diocese of Awori and Rt Rev’d Sam Akin Bamiselu of African Church, Ogun Province, Awori Central Diocese, among other important dignitaries.
Prince Ogundipe also stated his great desire to see to the successful outcome of the forthcoming Ota GRA CDA elections coming up on the 6th of June 2022, according to Ajumoni Ota ACDC Electoral Time Table.
